DJ ASAP bio

The success may seem to have come quickly for this Shreveport, Louisiana native, but this has been a long time in the making for DJ ASAP. By the age of 15 ASAP and his family had found their way to Dallas, Texas. At the same time as ASAP was getting introduced to the city he realized his strong passion for music. There was always a musical influence in ASAP’s life, with his father being a very well known Deejay and radio Personality in Louisiana. Working as a business man was something that ASAP had foreseen for his future never did he imagine that this musical passion would lead to him following in his father’s footsteps. Timbaland, Missy, and Puff Daddy were the initial musicians to inspire this new musical passion of ASAP’s. Those artists at the time had all clubs and airwaves jumping. In Texas, artist such as, Michael “5000” Watts, Paul Wall and UGK were at the forefront, which would prove to have a major influence on the kinds of music that ASAP would grow accustom to. That point on, ASAP became a connoisseur of music. He spent time daily in Guitar Center learning and getting familiar with all the equipment he would soon have to purchase.
Swiftly the time arrived. At the age of 19 ASAP would get his first real opportunity to deejay in front of a crowd. Like any first event there is always likes and dislikes with many lessons learned. The promoter for the event had tremendous faith in the talent that DJ ASAP possessed; he repeatedly received call backs to come and dj. As time passed ASAP became more persistent in perfecting his craft, and learning different tricks that would keep the crowds involvement. Radio Deejay, DJ TDK also helped to groom ASAP, teaching him the fundamental basics of scratching and mixing. Once ASAP has acquired the basic knowledge of how to deejay, he was back rocking parties.
Now 4yrs from his start ASAP has played for the big premier clubs and the exclusive underground favorites of the southwest region for celebrities along with corporate events. ASAP’s events include: 97.9 The Beat Custom Car Show, Texas Urban Music Summit, Sprite- Step off Tour, 2010 BET Spring Bling and more. He has also spun at events for Dallas Cowboys Annual Rookie vs. Veteran Challenge, Dallas Mavericks Josh Howard, Keith Davis of the New Orleans Saints, New York Yankees Trent Shelton; musical artist range from acts such as: Soulja Boy, Monica, Nas, Tank, Snoop Dogg, Drake, Play-N-Skillz, and a plethora of other artist.
ASAP is emerging now as one of the most sought after Deejay’s in the southwest region. He is steadily taking his career to new heights. “I love the feeling of dj’ing in the club atmosphere, because everything is so raw and unpredictable. The response I get from the people always motivates me to be better and try new music and tricks. I don’t look at myself just as a DJ, but more as an entertainer and that’s what you get with me ENTERTAINMENT!” ASAP intends on expanding to more Top 40 songs, because he would like to make his dj’ing a reflection of himself. As well ASAP plans to capitalize on the journey that he is taking as the official Tour DJ for Sprite Step –Off for the Southwest region.
This is just the beginning for this innovative, funny and persistent young deejay. “It never stops for me; I live and breathe this industry”. ASAP plans on one day making that venture over into radio personality. As for now ASAP is living by his name and making sure to “Always Serve A Purpose”!
