Danesha Styles

Every so often you find that one person who has had a dream from the time that they even knew what dreams were and still they are in pursuit to live them out. From the time that Danesha Styles was 3 yrs old she knew that singing was in her destiny. Music is in her blood with her uncle playing for James Brown the influence was already there. The church also played a very substantial role in her life as well; this would be where Danesha got her first chance to wow a crowd. Nothing is more uplifting than feeling that you have pleased the people of God.

At 8yrs old Danesha and a few other school girls formed a cafeteria group called B.A.D. These young girls had voices like no other. The students would come over to their table and request to hear different songs. It’s no wonder these girls didn’t starve, with all the singing that went on during lunch. There is such a passion behind any person who at the age of 8yrs can get in front of a group of peers and sing out their souls.

In 2004 Danesha decided to re-locate to Dallas, TX to help her cousin get her company off the ground, unfortunately her mother became sick and she wanted to return to Kentucky to be there. In 2008, her mother passed and from that point on the drive and passion that Danesha once obtained doubled because she was now doing this for her mother. Danesha’s mother had become her inspiration and now, “when I take off it’s gonna be like a rocket”.

By 2009 she was now living in Dallas full time and continuously pursuing her dream as a R&B/ Pop singer her goal is to “not drop the ball, and to be that guiding light”. Danesha is now working on her single “Take Off” which is to be released very soon. Drawing inspiration from artist such as Beyonce, this diva is already showing how well rounded of an artist she is.

Danesha makes a conscious and active effort to remain in the church to help to inspire young people to use their voices, because it is the strongest weapon anyone can posses. Singing is not her only gift, but so is writing. She has written all of her songs and plans on making that her next career move. This is just one more way to remain a well rounded artist. When listening to her music you can expect a more mature, futuristic sound with lots of depth. Danesha is able to draw from her experiences in life whether it is from the loss of her mother, or even referencing back to that 3yr who had the courage to sing in front of the entire church. She definitely has a story to tell.

This outgoing, confident, and humble woman is everything that R&B/ Pop has been missing. The spunk but yet the coolness of her personality will make you anxious to hear the words that she sings. “To know me is to love me”, and that’s definitely an understatement.
